The 3 P's of resilient thinking are personalization, pervasiveness, and permanence. Personalization: The belief that we are at fault. Pervasiveness: The belief that an event will affect all areas of your life. Permanence: The belief that the situation and how we feel about it will last forever. Check-in and ask your self if you think that this is all your fault, it will impact everything in your life, and it will never end. Personalization, not everything happens because of you. Pervasiveness, some aspects of your life will not be impacted. Permanence, the feelings and the impact of the situation will dampen with time.

The 3 Ps encapsulate how you see the world and how your viewpoints affect your ability to quickly bounce back from hardship.
The 3 Ps are Personalization, Pervasiveness, and Permanence.
Personalization relates to how you perceive external events, in other words, who do you blame in response to upheaval and inconvenience, yourself or factors beyond your control.
Pervasiveness is the belief that a bad situation will ripple across all areas of your life.
Permanence is the belief that a crisis will last forever.
When left unchecked, permanence morphs into catastrophizing, or the assumption that the worst is yet to come.
To apply the 3 Ps to each situation, ask yourself how can each experience be impersonal, impermanent, or specific.
Thought patterns around 3 Ps can make or break your recovery.
The 3 Ps were coined by psychologist Martin Seligman after studying how people respond to adversity.

The 3 Ps for Resilience are Personalization, Pervasiveness and Permanence. Personalization: It’s important to understand that not everything that happens, happens because of us. It is not always your fault. Pervasiveness: You might be subjected to the same suffering — when one part of your life sucks, you think everything sucks! Permanence: Ever so often, you think life will be just like this forever. Things will never change! But, the truth is — it will get better.

Our ability to deal with setbacks is largely determined by three P’s: Personalization, Pervasiveness, and Permanence.
Personalization is the understanding that not everything that happens to us happens because of us.
Pervasiveness is thinking that the event is somehow now going to globally or specifically affect all areas of your life.
Permanence refers to how long you feel this event is going to cause you suffering.
If you believe that your life will be FOREVER affected and for the remainder of your life you will be suffering, then you are creating more harm for yourself than the actual event did.
We need to accept our feelings and experiences but realize they will not LAST FOREVER!
