The 3 Ps encapsulate how you see the world and how your viewpoints affect your ability to quickly bounce back from hardship.
Personalization relates to how you perceive external events.
Pervasiveness is the belief that a bad situation will ripple across all areas of your life.
Permanence is the belief that a crisis will last forever.
When left unchecked, permanence morphs into catastrophizing, or the assumption that the worst is yet to come.
The 3 Ps can make or break your recovery.

The 3 Ps for Resilience are Personalization, Pervasiveness and Permanence. Personalization: It’s important to understand that not everything that happens, happens because of us. It is not always your fault. Pervasiveness: You might be subjected to the same suffering — when one part of your life sucks, you think everything sucks! But the truth is, that it doesn’t. Permanence: Ever so often, you think life will be just like this forever. Things will never change! But, the truth is — it will get better. These 3 Ps helped Sheryl Sandberg deal with her husband's sudden death in 2015, as she tells us in her recent book, Option B.
