It involves a sense of future, a belief that every exit line is an entry, that we are moving up, rather than out.
We acknowledge their part in our journey, we recognize it’s not longer serving us and then we quietly pull the curtain closed and move on to the next act in our lives.
Why can’t it just be the end of a chapter, and you’re moving on to something else?
What you did before mattered, and what you do next will matter too.
No matter what you do, you cannot change the past, and holding onto bitterness, anger or resentment does nothing to benefit you, and it certainly doesn’t hurt anyone it’s directed at, just yourself.
It really ends up with being able to gracefully bow out of situations that are no longer adding value to our lives, or have just come to the end of their life cycle.
I believe there comes a time for everyone when they are finally ready to let go of the things that no longer serve them, and gracefully exit that chapter of their journey.
