When teaching group exercise, in some classes you should consider exaggerating and making your movements bigger so that your participants put more in as often when they copy the instructor it’s not as much as they should be for example if the instructor is only giving 80% the participant will be doing much less and you want to get your participants to give as much as they can, not what they think they can. Also when teaching fitness one size does not fit all. Observation can be used to adapt the session, Observe how your clients or participants move and how they feel. By actively observing the way your clients or participants move you will be able to identify any other needs they may have or things that made need adding or amending within their program. Make sure you have an extensive exercise library in your head or written down so that you can adapt and adjust programs or classes as you go should any of the above come up. Nothing is black and white in fitness as we all react differently to things, everyone’s body is unique so be prepared to give alternatives and change things on the spot if needed. Look for all theses little signs, they can be spotted whether you are working 121 with someone or in a group.
