A commonly observed phenomenon is that many male dogs tend to exhibit more affection and dependency towards female owners. This inclination might stem from multiple physiological, psychological, and sociobehavioral reasons. Female Owners' Scents Are More Attractive, they use scents to recognize companions, find food, and assess their environment's safety. If you are a clean and hygienic female owner, your dog is likely to be attracted to your scent and feel closer to you. Female Owners' Voices Are More Pleasant, female voices are often softer and gentler, resembling a warm, pleasant breeze in spring, for dogs, this can be akin to listening to their favorite song, making them naturally more inclined to be close. Female owners tend to be more attentive, they notice every small need of their dogs, from food to living conditions to health and hygiene, this meticulous care ensures that dogs are healthy and happy. Female owners demonstrate great patience with their dogs, this tolerance makes dogs feel secure, knowing that their owners truly love them and won't abandon them for small mistakes. Female owners spend more time with dogs, this consistent interaction strengthens the bond between dogs and female owners, making the dogs feel that their female owners are their best friends who understand them well. Female owners are more patient, in everyday interactions, female owners understand their dogs' subtle needs, knowing when they need comfort or encouragement, over time, as dogs adapt to their environment, they become more trusting and reliant on their female owners.

Dogs generally tend to be more attracted to a specific set of behaviors that are exhibited mostly by adult women. Dogs like women’s softer voices and smaller figures. They may be intimidated by a man’s larger frame, deeper voice, and facial hair. Most veterinarians and primary caregivers are female, meaning dogs are more frequently exposed to women throughout their lives. However, dogs don’t pick who they like solely based on these individual characteristics. Your association with a dog plays just as a significant role. If a dog associates you with positive experiences, it will take a liking to you, regardless of gender. The dog will remember that you’re associated with good experiences like receiving treats and playing outside. Of course, though, there are dogs that are attracted to behaviors mostly exhibited by men. Dogs prioritize a person’s traits and personality when selecting their alpha leader. Whoever your dog more strongly resonates with is based on personality and association.

I have been told that male dogs tend to bond better with women and female dogs tend to bond better with men. I've also been told & read that some people bond better with certain genders, while others do not notice a difference. Realizing it's not going to be a hard & fast rule, but do any of you find that to ever be true in your experience with yourself or observed in others, or to you think it's just mostly folklore.
