Commands end with a slightly falling tone. The severity and urgency of the command is related to the tone. If there is a monster standing behind your friend, you would say Run with seriousness and urgency. On the other hand, if you were reading instructions from a recipe to your friend, you would say add two cups of milk with a command tone, but it would be a very polite command tone.

Command tones in English are simple phrases or short sentences.
A command tone would simply have an exclamation mark at the end.
Sit down! - with an exclamation mark emphasizes the command.
Use an exclamation mark with the imperative to show a command.
If it is a written command it will be followed by a '!'.
You can use exclamation marks e.g Sit down!!!!
In written form you use punctuation to indicate command.
In spoken, word stress will indicate command sense Sit DOWN.
