The morning is undoubtedly the most essential time to apply sunscreen. It’s ideal to apply sunscreen every morning as the last step in your skincare routine, right before makeup. Apply it at least 15–30 minutes before you step out so that the formula has time to absorb into your skin. Generally, it isn’t required once the sun has set, but there are a few exceptions. If you're heading out for a late afternoon or evening run, picnic, or any other outdoor event, you might still need sunscreen. Once the sun has set and you're spending your time indoors, it's safe to skip sunscreen. Instead, focus on hydrating and repairing your skin with night creams or serums that contain antioxidants, peptides, or retinoids to counteract any sun damage from the day. The best time to apply sunscreen is every morning as part of your skincare routine, and don't hesitate to reapply during the day, especially if you're spending time outdoors. While PM application is less common, it’s essential for evening activities where UV exposure may still be a risk.

While you can use sunscreen even in the night for prolonged UV protection from other sources of UV and blue light, sunscreen is not needed at night. Sunscreen should especially be removed before sleeping as the larger SPF molecules can clog the pores when kept overnight. Applying sunscreen at night, though not necessary, may provide prolonged UV protection from other sources of UV and blue light. However, it is essential to wash it off before sleeping to avoid blocking pores. Applying sunscreen can help premature wrinkles on your skin. But sleeping at night with your SPF moisturizer on is usually not recommended. Since SPF has a larger molecule, it can press into your skin and make larger pores. Apply sunscreen in the morning 15-30 minutes before sun exposure during the day to allow the formulation to fully absorb and provide UV protection.

I know people on here tell you to wear SPF all year round but this is winter. I use LRP sunscreen but it makes me look sooo greasy. Of course the obvious choice is to do sunscreen in the morning and moisturiser at night. I’ve seen people say don’t use sunscreen at night, that’s why I’m asking, but obviously my scenario is a little bit different. I’m aware sunscreen at night provides no benefit at protecting from the sun. I just want to wear it as an alternative to my moisturiser since it doesn’t break me out. And I want to do this in the evening because I look greasy when I wear it.
