Several pips for recall. 1 pip for stop, 2 pips for turn, several pips for recall. Three or more - come to Mamma, two - turn, one - stop. Three or more - oh Heck she must really want me I'd better scurry back and see what she needs my help with. I one long pip for stop, one short pip for turn, and two for recall for some dogs and five for others. Doesn't really matter what you use providing you are consistent & the dog understands the command. It don't matter a toot as long as you train the dog to whatever takes your fancy and you can actually remember what each command means yourself. Thanks,so as she is now returning nicely on two pips would turning her on two pips require retraining her not to return on two pips. One pip and the dog stops waiting to see if I am going to blow more, two pips she turns my way heading in like I might be blowing some more anytime soon so preempting the recall.

To train recall with a dog whistle, you can start by calling their name to get their attention and rewarding them with a treat or toy if they come to you. Once they start coming to get their treat reliably, you can start pairing their name with a specific whistle sound. Use the same sound every time, and start by calling your pet’s name then making the whistle sound. Reward them every time they come to you after you have made your vocal command and sounded the whistle. With time you should be able to completely replace your vocal command with the call of the dog training whistle. To avoid confusing your dog, we would suggest that you choose one of our dog whistle models and try to stick with it. This way your whistle calls will always sound the same and your dog will know that when they hear that specific sound, they need to return to you.
