Dogs enjoy protecting their territory, so yes, a regular walk has its benefits. Some dogs get bored if they only get one or two routes. Dogs Can get bored over anything that’s too routine. Mix up your walk locations. However, rather than being bored, it would seem to be safe to assume that a dog would love walking on the same route because they would recognize everything and feel safe. If they are male, they would also be able to smell their own urine on trees that they have marked. And all dogs can scent where another dog has been. I believe that dogs need stimulation and if you live in an area where you can let a dog off the lead to do “dog-like” things then your dog won’t get too bored doing the same walk over and over.

My dogs do the same walk usually for aprox 5 out of 7 days a week. They certainly don't seem bored of it. For one thing, it is heath-land, so there are always new scents, tracks and environmental stimuli that make it interesting for them. We do different routes around it though. Multiple reasons we often do the same walk several days in the week, for their benefit. It is open heath-land, so I can avoid other unknown dogs or do an arch at distance where required. It is enclosed, despite part of it being near a road. They do get individual walks in different places too, usually twice a week.

Do dogs get bored going to the same places. Every time we go, Dog gets all excited and seems to enjoy being there, but I sometimes wonder if he gets bored because we are there so much. However, because I like this place so much, it’s become our default dog park, and we really don’t go to any others. In your opinion, is this OK, or do dogs get bored of going to the same place all the time.
