I try to lead my dog away from random items on the sidewalk/grass when we're on walks, but she's so small and fast that she can grab things before I even notice them. What would you do in this case if you don't know for sure what the item is - try to pry it from their mouth? Just let them have it and hope for the best? I carry treats but there's often nothing higher value than whatever food she's found so asking for a drop it/trade just doesn't work.

The big concern is if it was something that will upset her belly or get stuck. I'd monitor for vomiting or not eating, as those would be the big signs for something getting stuck. If that occurs get her to the vet for xrays. If one vomit occurs you can try a dose or two of pepcid ac to see if that's settle her stomach first. You may not see any issue at all...this is only if she gets an upset belly.
