The Czech Republic is a beautiful country, especially the capital of Prague and the towns of South Bohemia. The Czech Republic is very much a dog-friendly country. Germany is one of the most dog-friendly countries in Europe. France is a great dog-friendly country, and lots of people do. Romania is not dog-friendly. There are lots of things to see while dog walking in the city. Many of the attractions and most bars have let Henry visit without issue. Travelling by public transport in the Czech Republic is pretty straightforward with few rules.

When I adopted an Italian pup of my own in 2017, it became even more evident that I was living in the most dog-friendly country in the world. I was wrong: “pets are people” is not just a philosophy, it’s a way of living, exemplified throughout what I would consider to be the most dog-friendly country in the world. The Italian embracement of having your dog join you on errands doesn’t just end after morning coffee, though. Dogs are not just allowed in restaurants, they’re invited. There is no such thing as a “dog-friendly office” because it’s the only type of office. I didn’t know it was possible to be more obsessed with dogs than I already was, but living in a country that shows their appreciation for the peace, love, and comfort these irreplaceable family members bring to our lives has multiplied my respect and love for dogs, and my little best friend in particular, ten-fold. And while I admire everything about Italy–the food, the lifestyle, the history–there is nothing I admire more than how their respect for dogs is ingrained into the culture.
