Most American parks are ideal in late September and October: its warm but not too hot, kids are back in school, there are lower accommodation rates and most trails and restaurants still open before the winter season kicks in. September is a great month to be in Grand Teton National Park, indeed any park with a lot of forest, as the start of autumn sees the vegetation taking on beautiful shades of red, orange and yellow. October is an excellent time to see animals such as moose, elk, bison and antelope, as its their rutting season. Meanwhile, spring is definitely the best time to visit Death Valley National Park, when its cool enough to hike and the famous wildflowers are starting to bloom. Visit between December and April instead when its much cooler, if you are planning to visit Floridas hot and steamy Everglades National Park. Late May and into June is a good time to visit the Grand Canyon. The lesser-visited and recommended North Rim is just opening, and youll beat the peak summer months that see one of Americas most-visited national parks get way too crowded.

The Kruger Park is an all year round destination, with each season bringing its own highlights. Game viewing can be at its best during the dry winters months, however the wet summer season brings full waterholes, lush bushveld, many newborn wildlife and the summer migrant birds arrive. Although some visitors might prefer the lush vegetation of the summer months, the best time for observing African wildlife in Kruger National Park is the dry winter season. The bushveld is more open allowing for better visibility. The grass is low, the bushes and trees are sparsely leaved and because it is so dry - with no rain - the wildlife will migrate towards the water. Whatever time you decide to safari in the Kruger National Park - you will not be disappointed. Game viewing is generally fantastic as the visibility is good and the game is concentrated around any water source. Towards the end of November and early December, Kruger National Park is filled with newborns and spotting wildlife with their young is a memorable Kruger Park safari experience.

The best time to visit the park depends on what you want to do.
If you want to watch the sunset than the best time is sunset.
If you want to do a ranger lead program or see the exibits in the visitors center than you want to go at the hours those things as offered.
We have always felt that the best time to visit the park is early in the morning.
If we are visiting Cades Cove we are there at daylight when they open the gate.
We find that the animals are more active early in the morning and we usually have about 2 to 3 hours before the crowds really start to arrive.
The roads, hiking trails etc don't seem to get really busy until after 10 or 11 AM.
My experience anywhere in the GSMNP is that up and out early is the best time for several reasons- fewer people, wildlife is active and it is nice and cool.
Cades Cove- sunrise or a hour or so before sunset.
I prefer Cades Cove either very early in the morning or after 6:00 PM in the evening.
Personally, we like to get out into the park as early as possable.
But, there are some places thats best visited in the morning.....examples are Cades Cove and Roaring Fork motor trail.
We found that people start heading off to Gatlingburg & Pigeon Forge around 3 pm.
It's much more enjoyable then.
