When I hear Kyle growl, I take both of their bones and throw them away to avoid any issues. The trainer told us he gets way too excited when he plays and that he is not an aggressive dog, just break up playtime rather than letting it be a free-for-all. We tried every trick different trainers had taught us and that we had looked up to no avail. I knew I wasn't supposed to but as a last resort I reached in the fight to try to seperate them and got bit as well. My boys were in horrible shape after that and we seperately rushed them to the vet hospital. I've thought about ordering muzzles or hiring trainers or even getting shock collars. I need to start thinking about how I can reintroduce them and assure this will never happen again. Does anyone have any advice on what I should do and if there's a certain type of trainer I should call.

After the fight has been broken up you should immediately get both dogs to lay down and become calm where the fight happened. If it takes 3o minutes, so be it. If the dogs become calm after a fight they can move on and be fine. If dogs are separated after a fight and not calmed down first, they get stuck in a fight state of mind towards the other dog and it gets really bad. Dogs live in the moment and argue and fight like little kids on a playground. They don't hold grudges and once the fight has passed the dogs have moved on. WALK THEM TOGETHER AFTER A FIGHT AS FAR/LONG AS YOU CAN. Once they are calm and tired you are going to let them back together. Do not isolate the dogs from one another. If you don't get the dogs back together after a fight a bit of scar tissue develops in their mind, and in your emotions.
