If you can see a build-up of oil or wax inside the ear, try using an Almond Oil dog ear cleaning solution.
Pour a small amount of almond oil into a cup or glass
Immerse cup or glass in a sink or bowl full of hot water
Straighten ear canal by gently lifting the tip of the ear flap upwards
Slowly drop about ½ teaspoon of almond oil into your dog’s ear canal using a plastic or glass dropper
Allow the oil to run down ear canal for 5 seconds
Gently massage the ear canal with your thumb and forefinger as mentioned above.
For normal weekly cleaning use Commercial Ear Cleaner – there are several good ones on the market, such as Halo’s Herbal Natural Ear Wash Solution.
Vinegar Rinse – Create a mixture of 1/3 apple organic cider vinegar and 2/3 water.

Many types of ear cleaning solutions are available and some may be better for certain types of infections, removal of waxy buildup, or routine maintenance cleaning.
In general, avoid anything with alcohol or hydrogen peroxide in the solution.
If your dog has an ear infection, your veterinarian can help you pick the most appropriate ear cleaner to help manage the infection.
Fill the ear canal with ear cleaning solution.
If your dog does not tolerate ear solution directly into the ear, try saturating cotton pads or balls with the ear cleaning solution instead.
Use cotton pads or cotton balls to gently wipe away debris.
Start from the inside of the ear, only as far as your finger can easily fit, which is about one knuckle in, and work your way to the outside ear flap.
Avoid using cotton swabs to prevent pushing debris deeper into the ear canal.
