It takes up to seven days for a dog to show signs of having parvovirus after they have caught it. Symptoms There are a few symptoms to look out for in your dog which could mean they have canine parvovirus which include: Loss of appetite Vomiting Severe bloody diarrhoea Lethargy Fever Severe weight loss Depression. If you recognise the symptoms above in your own dog, call your vet immediately for advice. Make sure to tell them what symptoms your dog has, and whether or not they’ve come into contact with a dog with confirmed parvovirus. Puppies and unvaccinated dogs are most at risk from contracting canine parvovirus. Puppies can go downhill very quickly if they catch parvo as their immune systems have to work very hard to fight the disease.

If your dog is unvaccinated, be sure to watch for any signs of this serious disease. The virus can cause vomiting, fever, weakness, depression, lethargy, bloody diarrhea, and dehydration. It can also cause your puppy to stop eating and lose weight. If you see any of these signs, take your puppy to see one of our veterinarians right away and have your pet tested for parvo. If you think your dog has parvo, bring your pet to our animal hospital as soon as possible. If your puppy is not showing signs but has not been vaccinated, bring it in to have our veterinarian test your pet and perform a check-up.
