The vaccines need time to build up resistance in your puppy’s immune system, and will not yet protect them until two weeks after the final vaccination. There is never zero risk but a vaccinated dog has a very low risk for contracting parvo. It is crucial that your puppy receives its final vaccination at 14-16 weeks of age, not younger. All puppies need 2-3 vaccinations, depending on the age at which you purchase the puppy. At Pet Medical we recommend vaccinations at 6-8 weeks, 10-12 weeks, and 14-16 weeks. Do not take your puppy to the park/walks/public places until after its final vaccination. Do not encourage people to visit your puppy until after its final vaccination.
