My dog barks at visitors or passers-by. Some dogs will bark at people passing by your house or garden. You can try preventing your dog from seeing anybody passing the house by reducing access to windows or gardens. It's a good idea to have tasty treats and exciting toys to hand – you can use these to distract your dog. Ideally, this would happen before they start barking, or you could use a treat to interrupt their behaviour. Make sure your dog has enough to do every day to stop them from getting bored. Establish a good routine – your dog may be barking to communicate that they want to play, want food or need attention. Make sure that you have a daily routine in place for your dog which includes meal times as well as play and exercise, at around the same time each day. A good routine can help your dog to know what activities and going to happen and when. This may stop them from barking for things at other times.

If your dog barks when people or dogs walk by the house, yard or car, he is likely to be motivated, at least in part, by territoriality. Territorial barking can be managed with a combination of proactive avoidance and an effective “Quiet” cue. First ensure your dog is tired by the time you sit down to your computer by giving her plenty of exercise before your workday starts. Make and store a few delicious long-lasting treats for your dog, such as Kongs stuffed with a soft food like peanut butter, spray cheese, or canned dog food. To reduce exposure to passing dogs and people that could trigger territorial barking, close the blinds or cover the lower part of the windows with a translucent film that uses static to stick to the glass. To teach your dog to be “Quiet” on cue, uncover the window and sit with your dog to watch for passing people and dogs, attach a long leash to her collar and have a bowl of high value dog treats ready at hand. When she barks, say “Quiet” once in a conversational volume and friendly, upbeat voice, wait until she stops barking, do not repeat the cue. When she stops barking, praise her immediately and give her a food reward.

If your dog always barks when you’re on Zoom calls, put him in a crate or another room before starting your call. You can also give a special chew, like a bully stick, or stuffed food toy, like a Kong, before your call.
Only do this if you know your dog can safely enjoy the item without supervision.
Prevention is VERY important.
Not only is barking not fun, but once your dog has started barking, it’s very hard to do anything productive about it and it’s very easy to accidentally reward it.
The more barking you prevent, the faster your dog will learn new habits.
If/when your dog barks at you, do nothing.
Don’t look at your dog, talk to your dog, or touch your dog.
Barking mustn’t work to get him what he wants.
Instead, accelerate your dog’s behavior change by planning proactively to prevent barking and diligently investing in his alternative behavior.

Stop taking them to the dog park for now. The more they behave inappropriately, the more it will happen in the future. Increase her exercise with more walking or try a doggie daycare where she will see the same people every day. Take them to people heavy areas on leash. Allow them to sit and watch people walk by. A busy park is great because it will allow them to see people walking, running, playing sports, etc. Praise your dog lavishly as they sit calmly. Once they have settled in more to your house and their life, try the dog park during a calm time. If they show the behavior, leash them up and leave the park.
