Since we went to go several times a week, I don’t think I should be bathing him that often- I live in a fairly dry climate and don’t want to cause him skin issues.

Upon returning home, give your dog a thorough but gentle rinse. Use lukewarm water in a shallow bowl or small bucket to either immerse one or both paws at a time. Start from their paws and work your way up to the legs, ensuring to rinse away as much mud as possible without causing discomfort. If your dog is so muddy that a bath is required then please ensure you use dog appropriate shampoo and rinse your dog thoroughly after shampooing to remove all traces of soap. Leftover shampoo residue can lead to skin irritation. Towel dry your furry friend gently, absorbing as much moisture as possible. If your dog tolerates it, use a hairdryer on a low heat setting to ensure they are completely dry, especially in colder November temperatures.
