He can get very pushy when he wants things. He would calm down when nobody is around from what we see on camera, but we don’t want to just leave him alone. He takes calming chews and trazodone at night and they seem to help but we don’t want to drug him all day. Just to be clear, there’s time when he just whines for no reason. But a lot of time, he’ll whine an hour before his walk or food, we can’t tell if that’s from being needy or also anxiety. It seems like he wants something when he whines because he would come over to get our attention, we don’t want to encourage an attention-seeking behavior but we also want to make sure he’s not feeling discomfort. His cancer went into remission, he got his ear tumor removed recently and the discomfort is gone. Right now, he’s as healthy as a 12yo can be physically so We can’t tell if he’s confused mentally or just more pushy as he aged.
