An authentic deeper voice commands more attention and conveys more authority. But how do you lower your pitch to find your own deeper voice? Stand with your hands by your sides, and look down, putting your chin on your chest. Take a slow deep breath in, filling your stomach area and your chest area with air. Now, as you exhale, hum a long low note from your throat and slowly raise your chin. Using a lower pitch will increase your authority when you speak, but it must sound authentic. With practice you can naturally access this powerful voice to engage your listeners and command attention.
