For me, the main con would be trying to walk two dogs at the same time. I know most people would tell me to just train my dogs to heel. But it's not always that easy. Also, I enjoy letting my dog go wherever she wants (as long as it's safe) and sniff wherever and whatever she likes. Looks like everybody loves having multiple dogs and the only real con would be the $$$ factor.

Dogs are pack animals, they have learned to live with humans as their pack members, but those people often leave the house, and Fido, their pup, stays home. When Fido has Fluffy, though, the pack is still somewhat intact, and the issue of separation anxiety is less likely to occur. The social aspect of having two dogs in your home is enormous, and a social dog is a happy dog. Exercise needs are lessened in a household with more than one dog, there tends to be a lot of playing, fighting, and chasing. Your dog would wrestle, roll, and flop down together to rest. All around, having more than one dog provides more advantages than disadvantages. Once you experience the joy of having multiple dogs, you may never go back to being in a single-dog household again.
