When your dog whines with a toy in their mouth, it's their way of communicating different feelings or desires. If your dog cries while carrying a dog toy, it's their way of saying, "Let's play together!" They're inviting you to join in because they enjoy your company and want you to be part of what they're doing. Female dogs, especially if they've had puppies before, might cry while holding a toy because of their motherly instincts. They may see the toy as one of their puppies, and the crying or whining is how they show they care for it, just like they would for a real puppy. Sometimes it could mean they're feeling anxious or stressed. At times, the reason your dog cries while holding a toy is just because they're super excited. Just like a toy can make a child squeal with happiness, a favourite toy can make your dog so happy they cry. It's their way of showing they're really enjoying themselves.
