Our vet worried that she could make it worse if she hit it with one of her nails. His temporary solution are baby socks. I got these that look like little Mary-Janes because they are so adorable. Kilabi's fine with them. Kikabi injured her eye and paws at it every once in a while.

Dog owners want to keep their dogs feet clean for different purposes including preventing allergens from making direct contact with the paws to protecting against chemicals, salt and snow. An easy and effective way to keep your dog’s feet clean is by using dog socks, dog shoes, or dog boots. Dog socks can help keep your dogs feet clean from debris, allergens, mud, and chemicals that can be on the ground. Using Baby Socks as Dog Socks Dog parents can use baby socks on smaller dogs as a temporary fix to protect their pup’s feet during extreme temperatures. For more frequent uses and for larger dogs, a set of dog socks made from a stronger reinforced material can be helpful for the outdoors. Another benefit to wearing dog socks outside is that they are much more flexible and comfortable on the paws compared to dog boots that typically have a much stiffer sole. The dog socks’ soft bottoms move with the dog which helps a dog walk with their natural gait. Ultrawoof's soft soled dog boots are flexible and comfortable like a sock, but more durable like a dog boot.

That depends on how big your dog's paws are. My 12-pound rat terrier/chihuahua's paws are about 1 and 1/4 inch across at the widest point, and the orange works OK over lightweight socks. The paws stay on and do not come off like most shoes so they fit tight and snug anyway so if you put socks underneath then you will need to get one or two sizes bigger because like I said the paws are made snug and little difficult to get on anyway. What type of dogs do you have. You can measure from tip of the longest part of paw to the back and also across(width). Personally, would not do this. Moisture will still manage its way inside Pawz. That will mean your dogs feet could be in a warm, moist enclosed area that is prime for bacteria growth. Having spent past $1000 on our dog helping it fight infections on its feet, do not consider this to be a good idea.

I started off with these waterproof, skidproof booties from Amazon.com EXPAWLORER Waterproof Dog Boots Reflective Non-Slip Pet Booties. They get 4 stars, and for a lot of people, they seem to do the trick. But here’s where the trouble starts. I’d say before we’d gone more than 10 meters, the booties started falling off. First I put on the Grip Crew Socks with Non Slip/Anti Skid Soles for Babies. Then I wrapped them with the Duct tape to create an outer, waterproof bootie, and voila! Wink walks normally with these and doesn’t seem bothered by them at all. Having returned from our first walk successfully–feet dry, no booties fell off–these will be my new go-to for our walks.

I put socks on her feet after I apply ointment at night. Since they are adult socks, they come off her feet by the morning. I'm going to buy baby/toddler socks with grippies on the bottom. I've seen people with tiny dogs buy 0-3 months, but obviously her paws are far larger than that. If you've bought baby/toddler socks for your grey, what size did you get? Or what size would you recommend, maybe you have human kids and can compare sizes of paws to feet.
