There is no standard size for all dog fields, as they can range from small paddocks of around an acre where a single field is located to large multi site facilities extending to over 30 acres. Over 360 field owners across the country have shared the size of their fields or paddocks with us and we were able to establish that the average secure field in the UK is 3.2 acres in size. Bear in mind when selecting a field that a lot of park owners may have two or more options at a site and these can be different in size-Bigger does not always mean more space though. Many fields nowadays have features to enhance the visit for your dog such as tunnels-water features-embankments and logs-tyres which are perfect if you your dog wants to explore and enjoys a play time. Other fields are laid out to maximise the space for running and burning off energy and are better suited for ball throwing and larger breeds that space to burn off energy.

An ideal dog park size falls between half an acre to one acre, providing ample space to accommodate various facilities and ensure a safe and enjoyable environment. It is ideal for a dog park to cover at least one acre of land. It will allow you to provide sufficient parking and access to utilities including electricity and running water. There must be at least one-half of an acre of land available for a dog park. In general, dog parks should be between 0.5 and 1 acre in size. It provides sufficient space for amenities like a pool, a separate area for small and large dogs, and an entrance area and transition area. A dog park should consider these factors and allocate enough space for dogs to socialize, exercise, and enjoy themselves.
