We are here to tell you that far from being silly, our recent purchase from Happy Hotdogs at Dogstival this year, was one of the most sensible things we bought this year. You get out the stroller, that's what, when you have a lively 6 month old pup and an 11 year old with heart disease who still very much wants to join in with the adventures. We went for a stroller that could accommodate both dogs, which was just as well because as you can see, Nacho does like to hop in too. Far from being considered silly, we have received many positive comments and the boys certainly attract attention as they look so happy and comfortable strolling along the seafront. We strongly recommend a stroller from Happy Hotdogs if your dog has any mobility or other issues which prevent lengthy walks. And anyway, who cares if you look silly as long as you are still enjoying life to the max. Getting out and having fresh air is good for both of you and this is how you can still enjoy those adventures together.

All I said was, “Your dog needs six weeks of cage rest,” and I could see the pet family slumping in their chairs. To follow my no-dog-exercise rule, they zipped Rover into a dog stroller and everyone got out of the house for some fresh air while still following doctor’s orders. Many of the dogs I have seen in the park have been taken out of their strollers to enjoy the grassy park lawns. Often I notice these dogs are recovering from orthopedic or neurologic disorders and are a bit unsteady on their feet. The stroller allows them to come to the park, walk on the grass, and get stronger. Small dogs are popular with city apartment dwellers. A Sunday afternoon walk to see the leaves changing color sounds just right for a fall afternoon, but halfway through the walk, your pooch poops out and refuses to walk another step. Either you drag your dog by its leash all the way home or you carry it. A stroller lets you continue on the walk without breaking your back carrying a tired dog. You can give your dog a safe place of her own while still being part of the family.

Some dogs may feel anxious or confined when placed in a stroller, while others may find it comforting to be close to their owners and experience the world from a different perspective. Dogs are social animals, and being close to their owners is often a source of comfort and security. Dog prams facilitate this connection to their human companions, listening in on conversations and enjoying a shared experience. For some dogs, this social interaction may be a positive aspect of being in a dog pram that can double up as a cosy bed and safe mobile den. Relaxed Body Language A dog that is at ease and enjoying the ride will exhibit relaxed body posture, with loose muscles, wagging tail, and ears in a natural position. Dogs that find the experience enjoyable will show curiosity and interest in their surroundings. They may sniff the air, tilt their heads to observe passing objects, or perk up their ears in response to sounds. Dogs will appear content and calm while in a pram. They may rest or lie down comfortably, showing no signs of distress or anxiety. Ultimately, whether dogs enjoy riding in strollers depends on various factors such as individual temperament, familiarity, training, and the overall experience provided.

Strollers can make some dogs’ lives better. For dogs with illnesses or mobility issues, including some seniors, a stroller can be a convenient way to get more time outdoors without an unnecessarily grueling walk. Strollers can be very useful for dogs who still want to enjoy walks with their owners, but are unable to walk for one reason or another. A dog who’s pushed around in a stroller all the time will miss out on the exercise and mental stimulation that comes from walking on their own. If you do use a stroller, it should never serve as a replacement for walking. They’re not yet fully vaccinated, They’re a senior with limited mobility, the weather is rough, They’re recovering from an injury, or They’re small or get tired on long walks, are times when a dog might benefit from a stroller. Once you’ve chosen a stroller, get your dog acclimated before you try wheeling them around on the sidewalk. If your dog has never been in a stroller before, it’s best to start working on it in the house, feeding your dog meals, treats, or chews in it to create positive associations.

He doesn’t mind being in a purse/bag but as you can imagine it gets a little annoying carrying 15 pounds around. So as much as I don’t want to be this person, I’m thinking about getting a stroller for him.
