I guess I am actually using the microphone icon in the corner of the Gboard keyboard while in the Google Messages app. I can say 'question mark' to get a question mark or 'comma' to get a comma. Is there a way to finish sending a voice text with a voice command, so I don't need to find and push the send button. Why can't I say some code phrase to send the text. There is no official list of commands, but I'm assuming someone would have discovered 'send text' by now.

To dictate text with your voice, use the advanced voice typing features on Gboard. To activate advanced voice typing features, open any app that you can type with and tap on the Keyboard mic. Say the text you want to type. To edit text, use voice commands such as “delete” or “clear.” Say a command. For example: To delete the last word: Say "Delete last word." To delete the last sentence: Say "Clear." To clear the text: Say "Clear all." To send a message: Say "Send." To fill out the next open field in a form: Say "Next." To add an emoji: Say the name of the emoji, like "Smiley emoji." To stop voice typing: Say "Stop." Tip: To find more voice commands, while you speak, tap Info. On your device, open the app where you'll input your text. Tap on the Keyboard mic. Say the text that you want to type. To apply corrections to your text, say “Fix it” or tap on the suggestion that's shown when an error is detected. If more proofreading suggestions are available, say or tap More fixes to see additional suggestions.

To start, make sure you’re on the Google Now screen, or you have universal listening activated — Settings > Voice > “Ok Google” Detection > From any screen. Now you’ll simply say, “Ok Google, send an email to [Contact Name]” or “Ok Google, send a (text) message to [Contact Name].” Note that the parenthesis indicates the word isn’t required to make the function work. Google Now walks you through the process of finding the contact, creating the message, and pressing send. If the contact has more than one email or phone number, Google Now will also ask for the right address or number to send the message. Google Now will ask you for the message content, and then transcribe what you say. You’ll finish by telling Google whether you’d like to send the message by answering “yes” or “no” to the final guided question. Google Now lets me create and send messages without ever touching my Android device.
