When should you intervene at a dog park?

When we are at the dog park he sometimes will go up to other dogs when they are playing or the occasional fighting and will get in the way. I've never seen the dog snap at him but should I be pulling him away from minor scuffles and stuff. What about if he decides he wants to hump another dog. Do I pull him off and leave.
