Start with a good cleaning. A major factor that will affect your bikes shifting performance is the cleanliness and lubrication of your bikes shifters. Use your aerosol degreaser and liberally spray the inside of the shifter removing all grease and dirt that has built up. While spraying shift through your gears to insure that the entire interior of the shifter has been cleaned. On most shifters there is a bottom plate that can be taken off with a screw driver that will reveal the shifters internal mechanisms. Once the plate is off take your shifter use your aerosole degreaser to clean your shifter of any dirty or grease.

Washing my car last weekend and as I park under a tree I get some sap in the warmer weather, so I thought id spray rapid dirt shifter around the car first before I rinsed it off then start my normal wash.
Firstly I tried it on the one side of the car , let it dwell for no more then 2 mins then rinsed it off.
It left the worst streaks I have ever seen in my life!
So on the bonnet and the front of the car I sprayed less thinking I used too much but again it left really bad streaks.
Not a problem as I washed it off after but am I doing something wrong with the dirt shifter?
